NIH-Oxford-Cambridge Graduate Students

Doctoral programs can be established between the NIH intramural program and Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

These programs give outstanding students the opportunity to earn a Ph.D. degree under the joint mentorship of faculty investigators at the NIH and Oxford or Cambridge Universities.

To start the program an NIH researcher must establish a scientific partnership with an investigator at the overseas institution, and outline a collaborative project in a single brief paragraph (containing a title, description of the project, and the collaborator's contact information). Note that investigators who wish to do so can submit 2 collaborative projects, either one associated with Cambridge and one linked to Oxford or they can be both associated with one University.

Investigators must have approval from their Scientific Director to participate in the program.
