Meaning of PDD term "Protein - Disease Correlation"
Protein - Disease Correlation
- A Protein - Disease Correlation is the relationship of a protein
with a disease condition reported in one or more literature
references.
- Each protein - disease correlation is assigned a unique PDC
ID number in the PDD database.
- There must be a significant
fold-change of protein concentration reported in the literature
cited for the correlation to be interesting and entered into the PDD.
- Different fold-changes for the same protein-disease correlation
may be reported from several literature
references or different sample
sources.
- A set of protein changes may be associated with a disease and
consitute a protein pattern.
- Protein fold-change patterns may be compared for different diseases.
- Various metrics and plots can be computed for illustrating
differences between protein patterns for different disease states.
